VHPready is an industry alliance based in Berlin and stands for Virtual Heat and Power Ready. The aim of this allience is to develop an open industry standard that ensures the interoperability and controllability of system components in virtual power plants. Since September 2015, the VHPready Specification 4.0 is officially available. This specification includes a table for the integration of different energy installations, combined heat and power plants, wind energy and solar plants, heat quantities, etc. in virtual power plants as well as data formats and remote control protocols. Implementation of data and protocols takes place in a gateway. In addition, the spot market EEX, the control power market and direct marketing are supported.
